The hole
It’s undeniable that at some point in our lives, we get that feeling of emptiness, like, “Oh, something’s missing!” And honestly, we’re clueless about what it is. So, we set off on a mission to find whatever it is we don’t even know. Along the way, we stumble upon quick fixes that sort of fill the void or give a brief sigh of relief. Later on, we carry on still lost, and those quick fixes pop up again in front of us. And then, we just keep going until we’re hooked on these immediate rewards – usually, it’s cigarettes, booze, maybe a bit of the good stuff, sweets, and of course, that greasy food. Before you know it, we’ve got this lazy routine, a body feeling all inflamed, and happiness that’s just downright miserable.
So here’s the thing: What kind of human do I want to be, and how the heck do I become that human? If you’re cool with being who you already are, that’s fine and dandy. Decision made, just roll with it. But no complaining later. Now, if you’re keen on becoming a better human, brace yourself because you’re about to dive into a battle that only really ends when you feel that gap getting filled. Sometimes it takes a while to kick in and realise, “Hey, it’s happening.”
Just get going, do your thing, stick with it, listen to your body – it’s got the answers you’re after. Embrace the discomfort that comes your way; it’s all part of the change, part of your personal glow-up. If it gets too much, don’t hesitate to ask for a hand. Just kick things off.
